Into The Woods Completes Successful Run

On February 21, Southwest Playhouse performed its last production of Into the Woods, one of Stephen Sondheim's more musically challenging works. The cast of twenty brought numerous fairy tales to life on a beautifully constructed set, made possible by Christy Russell, Dean McSpadden, Scott Campbell, and Gerald Kelley, with costuming by Director Julie Barnett, all complimented by the stunning lighting design by Dean McSpadden, and our light board operator Ashley Roever. Emma Brown ran 10 mics, two of which are brand new thanks to our fundraising efforts, as well as all of the sound cues for Into the Woods. This tech heavy show challenged our players and crew in ways that have never been realized at Southwest Playhouse before, and the Board of Directors is excited about this step into different kinds of theatre.

Southwest Playhouse saw nearly 900 patrons enter our doors to enter the Woods.

Keep your eyes peeled for the release of our next season, and we hope to see you in April for our production of All My Sons!
